VolleyTrack Privacy Policy
In plain language
VolleyTrack is a volleyball scoring, rotation, and statistics app made by HarpElle LLC. Core scoring works on your device without an account. Creating an account adds cloud sync and lets you host Spectator View. A match code shares the live match information the scorer chooses to share, which may include team and player names. Fan Zone posts show your chosen display name and message to people watching that match. Connected features — sync, live viewing, AI-assisted content, voice interpretation, purchases, and ads — need an internet connection. On the Free plan, Google AdMob shows non-personalized banner ads; VolleyTrack Pro removes them. We do not sell your personal information, and the app does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Information stored on your device
You can use core scoring without an account. Teams, rosters, lineups, matches, statistics, and app settings you create are stored in VolleyTrack's app-sandboxed local storage on your device. This is standard app storage — not a claim of separately encrypted storage. Device-local data stays on your device and is removed when you delete the app's data or uninstall the app.
To function, the app reads certain device information such as app storage (UserDefaults), available disk space, file timestamps, and system uptime. These are used to run and maintain the app; they are not used to track you.
Account information
If you choose to create an account, you can sign in with an email address and password, with Sign in with Apple, or with Google. Depending on the method, we receive and store an account identifier, your email address, and a display name, along with the sign-in methods you have linked. Sign in with Apple may provide a private relay email address instead of your personal address. We use this information to authenticate you, to sync your data across devices, and to let you host Spectator View. Authentication and cloud data are provided using Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore).
Match and team content you create
When you build teams and matches, you may enter team names, roster player names and numbers, lineups, scores, player actions, statistics, timeouts, substitutions, and notes. This match content can include the names of players, who may be minors when entered by a coach or scorer (see Children's privacy). When you are signed in, the seasons, events, matches, and broadcasts you choose to sync are stored in HarpElle's cloud systems (Google Firebase) so they are available across your devices. When local and cloud data meet, VolleyTrack asks you to choose how they are combined or replaced.
Spectator View and Fan Zone
When a scorer shares a live match, VolleyTrack creates a four-character match code (older shared codes may be four to six characters) and an optional QR/share link. Anyone with the code can see the live match information the scorer shares — which may include team and player names, score, sets, server, rotation, recent activity, timeouts, substitutions, between-set statistics, and summaries — during a limited live and post-match window rather than as a permanent public page.
If you join a match as a spectator, your viewer presence and your player-cheering choices are kept in a private interaction record. However, if you post in Fan Zone, your chosen display name and message are written to that match's shared chat and are visible to other people watching the same match. Score-check requests and emergency alerts are sent to the scorer as requests; they do not change the match automatically. Please do not share a match code more broadly than the team intends.
Voice entry and AI-assisted features
Voice entry uses your device's on-device speech recognition to convert what you say into text. The resulting text transcript is sent to our cloud service, which uses third-party AI providers to interpret it into suggested match actions that you review before anything is applied to the match. Voice interpretation needs an internet connection; ordinary scoring works locally.
AI-assisted analysis, match narratives, and fan recaps are generated by sending relevant match information to our cloud service and third-party AI providers for processing. AI-assisted content can miss context and may be inaccurate; you should review it before using it for coaching or sharing. We describe these providers by category rather than by specific model name because providers and models change over time.
Purchases and subscriptions
VolleyTrack Pro and any other purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play and are managed with RevenueCat, our subscription-management provider. We receive your purchase and subscription status so we can unlock the right features; we do not receive or store your payment card details, which are handled by the app stores. Deleting your VolleyTrack account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription — manage or cancel that in the store account you used to purchase.
Advertising
On the Free plan, VolleyTrack shows banner advertisements provided by Google AdMob. To serve and measure these ads, Google collects device information and ad-interaction data. VolleyTrack does not use App Tracking Transparency and does not access the iOS advertising identifier (IDFA) or an equivalent cross-app tracking identifier, so these ads are non-personalized and the app does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. Purchasing VolleyTrack Pro removes in-app ads.
For more about how Google handles this data, see the Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Diagnostics and security
To keep the app stable and secure, we use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and related device and app information when something goes wrong, and Firebase App Check (with Apple App Attest or Google Play Integrity) to help verify that requests to our systems come from a genuine, unmodified instance of the app. This helps us diagnose problems and reduce abuse.
Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account from within the app (Settings → Account → Delete Account) or request deletion on our account deletion page. Deleting your account removes your account profile and the synced VolleyTrack data associated with it — seasons, events, matches, and live broadcasts you created — from our active systems, normally within 30 days of verification.
Some data may remain: a short-term safety backup used by missing-data recovery flows (up to about seven days), device-local data on your phone or tablet until you remove it, limited records we must keep for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance, and purchase records maintained by Apple, Google Play, or RevenueCat under their own policies. We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law.
Children's privacy
VolleyTrack is designed for coaches, stat keepers, team managers, and directors, and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Because volleyball rosters and match records are entered by an adult coach or scorer, they may contain the names and statistics of players who are minors. If you enter or share information about a minor, you are responsible for having the appropriate permission to do so and for sharing match codes responsibly. If you believe a child's information has been provided to us and should be removed, contact us at info@volleytrackapp.com and we will take appropriate steps.
Your choices and rights
You can use VolleyTrack locally without an account, sign out at any time, review and edit your match data in the app, remove ads by purchasing VolleyTrack Pro, and delete your account and synced data as described above. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, email info@volleytrackapp.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including app attestation and access controls on our cloud systems. No app or online service can be completely secure, and device-local storage is app-sandboxed rather than separately encrypted, so please keep your device secure as well.
